BigBull,
A watch on the weather with one corner of one eye. I am estimating heating degrees for next week (11-25) in central/southeast PA to be nearly 5% warmer than last year and nearly 13% warmer than normal at that date. We are currently near these percentage levels now.

This is not a good start to a cold winter.

That darn North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) has been positive (and highly positive) all week and needs to turn around within ten days or less or my hopes for a cold or even normal winter dwindle. Currently no reason to put away the thermal underwear and bring out the shorts for Christmas, yet.
I have not been tracking degree days in the rest of the US this week, perhaps they are making up for the MidAtlantic states. I hope so.
