I don't believe all the IE crap gets loaded until you install IE. Its true that Opera is much less a hog than IE. I tried Opera once for the same reasons and found it bothersome and did not think the lighter load was worth the effort to get used to it. I agree with ReireSoon that a new machine would be best. Its a lot of work to get another machine up and running and networked with your existing machine but your trading, paid chat, and website each being mission critical, I wouldn't want to live with the stress of having my whole house of cards come tumbling down with some malfunction on my one and only machine. I can see how you might not have the time to implement a new machine yourself... how about hiring someone?
