I would ask about it. I would ask the opinion of other SI folks who have medical knowledge.

Dear Ish: Just want to say I have been following your posts. Havent commented lately as too concerned to know what to say. Wish you and Sue the very best though. A bone infection is a very serious matter, I am not a Dr. but been around this stuff due to my wife for so long have some ideas as to what is serious and what is not. I presume you know all this by now though, as to bone infections. Personally, and not being a Dr., I cannnot imagin an oral antibiotic being adequate to treat bone infection. Please stay on top of this and dont presume someone will worry as much as YOU will. Hopefully you got a Marcus Welby MD there, but here where I live Drs. are treating so many patients to make a decent living off of Medicare, and HMO's and all that they just cant keep on top of things like in the old days. A patient must be aware themselves and push. I am sure you know the old saying, "a squeaky wheel gets the grease". Good luck and God Speed. JDN
