mr.mark, I tried to remove a link [after moving by dragging] from the IE5 links bar. It would not do it.
The moved link only disappeared after I added a new link to the links bar. Definitely an 'issue'.

right-clicking on the folder and deleting does not do the trick. the persistent little bugger comes right back upon reopening. i tried it in ie5.0

If you have time try rebooting the computer after you delete the link folder from the favorites .

I just deleted the link file from the organize section of favorites and launched the browser and there is no links folder any longer.

I was able to restore it from my recycle bin. <G>
