Intel at least wants to maintain the leadership in the price cuts. Intel has to cut prices now or later because AMD will lower Athlon prices anyway on its release of Athlon 750. If Intel doesn't cut prices now, then it will be seen as reacting to AMDs price cuts ;o) Goutama
