Needed or not it's here now and here's what:

Data Transfer Rates (MBytes/sec):

Same Disk Disk-to-Disk Network
Old Computer 0.86
0.73
New Computer 1.01 2.70
-----------------------------------------------------------

Old Computer is an AMD 233, Fujitsu 2.5GB, DMA enabled.

New Computer is a Celeron 300@450, Western Digital 3.2GB (2 of 'em) DMA enabled.

File being transferred in the test is the Win98 folder (with all the cab files -- 129MB)

RS: To set it up without plugging the modem into the switch I would need two NIC's in the main computer, right? I asked the guy at Intel and he said Win95/98 won't support that -- I'd need NT.

[Edit] PCI 10/100 NIC on new computer, ISA 10Mbit NIC on old computer. Have to try it with PCI on both.
