Joan, I think the good markets will continue for a while. I wish I could resist buying (or at least sell some - but I'm having too much fun!) so I would have some cash for mid December. I agree with many others who have said they expect some Y2K scare selling at that time.

I have been immersed in Y2K work for over three years. I believe we are in pretty good shape in America, especially large companies and government. Small businesses may have lagged behind a little. I believe we will have some isolated disruptions, but nothing we can't handle.

I think it may help out stocks because companies who have put off large development projects will begin to feel it is safe to move ahead. Also, leftover money from huge Y2K budgets will be available for other services and products.

On a personal note, I believe I/we had an omen today. It was very cool, very sunny, breezy, and most incredible of all - low humidity in Austin today! When I was out doing weekend errands, it made me happy and gave me gobs of energy! The rarity of this Texas day is a good omen.
