Ian: Your wrong, just plain wrong. I checked out prices from Dell and IBM for standard business machines. Business users buy a computer with: Intel microprocessor and chipset and MS Office. The prices I gathered are for BX, 820 and 840 microprocessor. The standard configuration includes 128 MB RAM, 733 microprocessor, 32 Meg performance Video card, standard sound, NIC, Win98 and MS Office. NOTE White box vendors will sell 840 based solutions like hotcakes when RDRAM become readily available. Dell and other major OEM will suck up all Intel 820 and 840 production until RDRAM prices come down and the other 60% of computer marketplace get a chance to sell RMBS based solutions. My guess by Apr or May all computer manufacturers will be selling RDRAM computers for all implimentations of performance computing which is 700 MHz and up. Ian, ot I have been driving Porsche 928's for the past 16 years, fantastic vehicles in my opinion. However I recently sold my last one. Have had a recent weekend loan of a Boxter and although it is a completely different animal, I`m totally infatuated with it. Like the sports car driver, I think it will be the game players who will buy Rambus, always lusting for the last ounce of power and speed, irrelevant of the cost. Alan
