Interesting that you should mention IBM. One of my savviest friends believes that Lou Gertsner will be vindicated for 'fessing up' about potential Y2K disruptions in IBM's revenue stream. In contrast to the Microsoft, Intel and Dells of this world. If those stocks take a hit after their management has assured Wall Street that Y2K is not a concern...... perhaps someone will get riled.

For what it is worth, IBM is the only technology company (outside of the telco suppliers like Lucent and Nortel) that has taken Y2K dead seriously. They had all of their internal stuff (including elevators) checked and remediated a year ago. And they have tried hard to work with customers to update software - in contrast to Microsoft. I, for one, give them credit for that.
