Marshall,
Excellent post on L2. I have also seen this happen many times. Something else I noticed that they do is this.
(I will use HRZG as an example), HRZG will hang on the bid and ask at exactly the same time and there is anywhere from 1/2 to 1/4 point difference in the bid and the ask. They will stay there for quite a while until someone comes in with a higher bid price and they go to second position on the bid temporarily and then move back into the first bid slot.
The only thing I can figure is that they are keeping the price down, thus keeping uncertainty hanging over the stock.
Once they move on the stock will go up.
I don't know if it is coincidence or what but this last week I have seen this happen over and over again on different stocks.

Trading without L2 BTW is like trading blind. IMO

Also, I have a question. I use eSignal. I do not trade through them but use them for my L2. I have heard of Quotes.com and that they offer L2 and its only 100 or so a month. Does anyone use them and if you do how do they compare to other companies that offer L2? TIA.
