Hi TraderAlan; Re SNet can be ignored by market makers ... I do know of one guy who got a successful complaint against a market maker for "backing away", but it was the only one. Usually, they can show other orders were ahead. It is my belief that a good trader on a direct access terminal can nearly always get a better fill. That they sometimes don't is frequently due to greed. (I.e. trying to make the spread, when they should be making for the hills.) When you place a market order with a discount broker during fast market conditions, nearly anything can happen, but a good fill would be a rarity, I think. -- Carl
