I don't know where this reply to me came from?

I seemed to have complimented Brinker in the post you reference for reading Abelson, who has been mostly wrong for the whole 1990s, but for giving us good stuff to talk about and for callers to ask interesting questions rather than the boring ones.

From your posts message to me:

How did he know to recommend MSFT as his "tech stock of the decade of the nineties" at $2 per share in 1990?

Just lucky I guess.

How did he know VOD would become a wireless monster when he recommended it at $3 in 1989? Just lucky I guess.

and your post

You are so right! You can always find the rank amateur investor by the way they brag about their personal portfolio performance. This is the most obvious trait of all. All they do is toot their own horn about how smart they are. Quite the joke.

I take it Brinker is a consumate professional because Don Lane touts his performance?

Otherwise, I am not sure I understand you. Maybe you should stop beating around the bush? Are you upset that I gave a personal portfolio return rather than a "professional" portfolio return?

Should I have just given my "professional" portfolio return which is in Jim Jorgensen's newsletter which is something like 98% YTD and 207% in 14 months? This is such a short history that I felt a longer period like 7 years would give a better feel for what can be done with a conservative buy good stocks when out of favor post? Clearly that is a professional portfolio as a competitor of Bob's pays me to do it in his newsletter. I just didn't think it was right to "toot my horn" too much about it here on a board for Bob Brinker.

My take on the whole issue. You LOVE Bob Brinker and you HATE anyone that might be competition. That seems so insecure to me but I sure accept the wonderful compliment! Thank you!
