Authorizied shares - dilution Increasing the number of authorizied shares does NOT dilute the value of the currently issued shares. It only reflects a change in the number of shares that a company is allowed to issue. For dilution to occur, a company would have to issue new stick in a secondry ipo, a private placement, or a similar mechanism. The usual reasons for increasing the number of authorizied shares appeard to be clearly stated in the press release, and did not include any mention of diluting the value of your holdings. Seems pretty simple to me, 31x2=62 = no more 2:1 without increasing the authorized. No dilution until outstanding. < As a result, with more than 31 million shares outstanding, the Company would be unable to effect another stock split (similar to the two-for-one split on November 17) without the aforementioned approval of an increase in the number of authorized shares>
