Nice article overall but the above statement sounds like wishful thinking to me. Even if Wilamette sees silicon in say late-December or early January (which is not certain), the odds of getting even a first half of the year Athlon kind of launch seems pretty low.

May be people like Scumbria, KZ and any of the folks with more recent Microprocessor design experience can comment.

P.S.: As I suggested in an earlier message I will wait till I hear how Wilamette first silicon looks before I make up mind on where this program is going - which probably is going to be sometime in January.
