Thread - I've been lurking here for a year now, great thread. Am hoping to begin daytrading myself, have been trying to learn about the process and the problems.
I noted a while back a whole bunch of discussion about IE5 and CSW.
I've just switched over to a new machine, PII 333, 256 meg ram, Telus ADSL, Win98 (latest) and IE5.01.
Problem - I can't even connect to CSW, though I have no problem on my old 56K modem, on my other machine.
IE5 just won't display the opening/login page - says cannot connect to server. Haven't had this problem with any other site.
Any ideas on what the problem is? Appreciate any help!

Regards, Jim Kayne

New Economy,
"The folks at the TD Waterhouse in Kitchener" .. YES, they are good, & fast by phone too. Made some trades by walking into their office, twice earlier this month too. The manager of the Kitchener office suggested( to speed things up) to go to the main login page of Webbroker first, & then it will take to a server that is likely not too busy .. versus going directly to say server 38. Some of the trades thru TD lately are going thru much faster .. 18 seconds to two minutes. I just moved more cash into TDWaterhouse. I made some trades thru RBC DS ( negotiated one up front commission in; & out for nothing .. round trips). Still think the KYC rule will disappear in 4 to 10 months, which should change things a lot in Canada.

Just filled out Charles Schwab Canada paperwork .. but I think PC Quotes is way too expensive. Not sure what I'll do ?

I'm still waiting for a new computer. Was thinking of get a flat panel display ( USB ports to digital monitor .. is faster by 100X;.. ie other way it goes back and forth between digital signals and analog signals to monitor ).. but think I will just get a couple normal 19" monitors .. much cheaper .. for now.
