Could someone please explain the
reasoning behind requiring QP for IPOS.

I also believe WFII will be a very
successful company.

TIA

RE: "When the QP ends, on Tuesday the 30th, WFII will begin to release a steady flow of announcements about its newest deals and partnerships"

Actually, the quiet period demanded by the SEC does _not_ demand that the company can't announce new deals, partnerships, and press releases. They just can't make any forward looking statements in those releases. Several recent IPOs have press released new contracts within days of opening (such as ATON, INAP etc). Companies can also annouce earnings during the quiet period (such as VIAD did last week).

It will be especially interesting to see how WFII does with its outsourced wireless system management offering. That's a new line of business for the company.

Of course we'd all like to see the stock head higher, but I'm not all that thrilled by the momentum seekers like TokyoJoe buying in, cos I'm a medium to long term holder not a trader. People who buy IPOs on speculation that the end of the quiet period will drive the stock higher when the underwriters issue their notes and the company will shower us with press releases, also have a tendency to depart fairly rapidly as well, especially if what they got didn't match what they had hoped for (see RPCX chart). What we need is stability, harmony, love, peace, etc. ;)
