I agree to some degree. I was actually trying to help someone who was having a data issue. However, having brought the subject up, I must say that trading the E-mini, often there is a preopen move that has enough liquidity to be a really good trade. I find that often moves based on the release of an economic number (often at 8:30AM) can be a substantial trade. It is not unusual to have a 10-12 point move in the futures "pre market". These are typically not "gap" moves, but rather moves that take 10-15 minutes to develop. Obviously, the same is not true in most stocks which trade very thinly in premarket.

There is truth to that statement.

And no question about that one as well.

Then I must assume you are not a serious daytrader as the pre-market gaps are the most important information you will have all day.
