11/18/99: Fund flows continue to accelerate in the Technology sector

Fund flows continue to accelerate in the Technology sector. Though they represent only 2% of all equity funds (see AMG Newsline archive dated 9/14/99), inflows of $1.3 Billion for the week ended 11/10/99 represent almost two-thirds of all equity flows for that week. In the week ended 11/17/99 inflows increase to $1.4 Billion. Aggressive Growth Funds invest in large, medium and small capitilization companies, giving them the flexibility to purchase securities in the various technology sectors. Inflows to the Aggressive Growth sectors are now exceeding a rate of over $1.1 Billion per week, the largest since January, 1996. Reallocation of assets from more risk averse sectors to those with higher potential for sizable returns indicates less concern among marginal equity investors about market risk.

Sergio,

Semiconductor index...looks like the FILE chart did at 16 <GGGG> since FILE moved to 23 from that level, then I like the index chart mucho.

MCTI is one of those undiscovered stocks that is going to take longer than I like to get to where I want to go LOL. The volume is too low to do any trading even though it is a very nice looking co.

Chart wise we are seeing the same thing, but in your time frame, not mine.

The other was MATX....again low volume move to the upside and not convincing enough to warrant our hard earned time.
