CommTouch and Go2Net Collaborate to Deliver Customized Email over the Go2Net Network
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and SEATTLE, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- CommTouch Software (Nasdaq: CTCH), a leading global provider of outsourced email for corporations and consumers, and Go2Net (Nasdaq: GNET), a network of branded, technology- and community-driven Web sites, today announced the launch of Custom Mail(TM) free email services on Go2Net's Silicon Investor (http://www.siliconinvestor.com), the Web's premier financial discussion and information site, and Go2Net's metasearch service, MetaCrawler (http://www.metacrawler.com). This is the first step in a series of customized email and communication services CommTouch and Go2Net will implement across the Go2Net Network in the months ahead.

The Custom Mail solution allows all registered Silicon Investor and MetaCrawler users to sign up for free, personalized Silicon Investor or MetaCrawler email accounts, powered by CommTouch. In addition to free email, the Custom Mail service offered through the Go2Net sites provides online calendaring, contact lists and day-to-day 'to do' lists, among other features. CommTouch and Go2Net also plan to deploy Custom Mail to other Go2Net Network properties, including HyperMart (http://www.hypermart.net) and Virtual Avenue (http://www.virtualave.net).

In the coming months, an additional CommTouch initiative to provide specialized, co-branded email and communication solutions for small and medium sized businesses will be introduced for HyperMart, Virtual Avenue and Go2Net's FreeYellow.com (http://www.freeyellow.com), which together provide free hosting and other services for more than 750,000 member businesses. A private-label version of the CommTouch ZapZone Network (http://www.zzn.com) will enable individual HyperMart, Virtual Avenue and FreeYellow.com member businesses to automatically create customized, free email services for their sites' respective visitors, complete with a sub-domain name of their choice. The ZapZone Network currently serves more than 150,000 Web sites and is growing by about 700 new sites daily.

"As home to several of the Internet's most popular vertical destinations, the Go2Net Network is ideally suited for the highly specialized email and communication products CommTouch provides," said Thomas M. Camp, Go2Net's vice president of business development. "As we continue to develop the Go2Net Network's communications infrastructure, we look forward to working with CommTouch to offer industry-leading email, calendaring and other communication solutions for our users."

"We are enormously pleased with the results of this relationship," said Yael Elish, vice president of strategic development for CommTouch. "Our alliance with Go2Net represents a unique opportunity to incorporate our various strengths into one powerful online network. This represents just the beginning of significant programs our two companies plan to implement together."
