"Malaysia is the second largest foreign investor in Sudan after China"
...
Tabung Haji is the custodian of RM7 billion in accumulated savings of its contributors.
The national pilgrim fund's chairman, Razali, said:
Outside the country, the fund is looking into expanding it's investments
in Sudan, Indonesia and South Africa, especially in the plantation sector.

In Sudan, the food industry and palm oil sector offer very good investment
opportunities, he said.

The Sudanese Government is believed to have offered large tracts of land to
Tabung Haji for oil palm cultivation, and it is planning to make an initial
investment in a plantation of about 4,000ha.

Tabung Haji is also looking into importing Sudanese beef and mutton, the
quality of which is on par with those from Argentina and Brazil.

Malaysia is reportedly the second largest foreign investor in the African nation
after China. Among the Malaysian companies with interests in the country are
Petronas (petroleum and gas) and Advance Synergy Bhd (mining and hotel).
