In the last eight trading days CSCO went up $14. Does that sound like a stock that is ready to roll over and die!? Very soon CSCO will hit 100 or 105. Any one agrees with me?

The reality is that Nortel is having a tough time competing against the Cisco product line has resorted to the desperate measure of eliminating the bulk of their profit in order to try and regain some market share. This practice has been tried before in other markets and will lead to reduced profit margins for the company (Nortel in this case) and is almost always the beginning of a downward spiral. If you are looking for a good short play you might consider some Nortel puts instead.

IMO

Wrong. Do your due diligence. The routers Nortel cut prices on represent a very small portion of Cisco's business. When asked about this, a Cisco representative stated that Nortel routers are finally priced what they are worth. Nortel's move was the last gasp of a loser in that particular space.
