Runner -

Supposedly they have never had a Y-2K problem.

Not necessarily true.

Like Microsoft, Apple really only makes the Operating System... neither Microsoft nor Apple make applications like accounting packages.

While the MacOS may indeed properly deal with 4 digit years, there is absolutely nothing Apple (or MightySoft) can do to either require an application to use that call to the OS, or to then handle those 4 digits properly after returning from the call to the OS.

Apple & MightySoft make the cement in the foundation of your house... which says absolutely nothing about the quality of the roofing nails.

While an operating system (like MacOS, DOS, or Windows) is a required component, I'll give $5.00 to the first person who can point me to a business that runs itself on an OS alone. Businesses run on applications... not technical foundation layers.
