Paul - RE: "In October, Intel began shipments of Coppermines to their customers." You NAILED it Paul. They began shipments of the processor. In the past (which you guys bragged about quite often), Intel began shippments quite some time before the release date and the processor and systems were available THAT day, if not a few days before. With FLOPPERMINE, there were NO systems were available to purchase on stores shelves on Oct. 25. That is obviously because those OEMs were just getting the processor. You always look at AMD's PAST stock prices and compare it to the current stock price. Compare Intel processor availability in the same way. Or do you not want to? "Two weeks later, NINE vendors on Pricewatch started advertsing Coppermines for sale." Exactly, "two weeks later." I expected a deluge of vendors advertising it for sale on Oct. 25, as in the PAST. But now, Intel faked me and MANY other people out. Maybe it didn't fake you out because you knew this was going to happen. "Two 1/2 weeks after the launch, Gateway 700 MHz Coppermine PCs , Dell 700 MHz Coppermines and Hewlett Packard 733 MHz Coppermine PCs, Compaq 450 MHz coppermine notebooks and Sony 500 MHz Coppermine notebooks are readily available." "Two 1/2 weeks after launch"? In the PAST it was probably 2 1/2 hours after launch. And look, you have to SINGLE OUT the OEMs. In the PAST, you would have had to write Dell, Compaq, Gateway, HP, PB, NEC, ... xxxMHz systems, Dell, Compaq, Gateway, HP, PB, NEC, ... xxxMHz notebooks. "Maybe the fast appearance of these has your neck out of joint so you think it was some kind of head fake." "fast appearance"?!?!?!?! What kind of BS are you trying to feed us? Two weeks and 2 1/2 weeks later is FAST? It may be fast when you consider the problems Intel previously had with the chip which caused the original DELAY , but compared to Intel's previous launches it is certainly NOT "fast". "If you are a head case - which you undoubtedly are - I guess you have been faked." You can think whatever you want to if it makes you happy.
