Revaluation is not the same as redenomination. Chopping zeroes off does not revalue anything, it only relabels things. For example the Euro was an example of relabelling not revaluing - although they had to create a delicate advance timetable first.

The British when they left the Euro club effectively revalued but when they went to a metric pound they redenominated (the pennies anyway).

When the French chopped two zeroes off their franc, it led to a sustained bull market in their equity market but, usually, redenomination is a big yawn.

The professor explained very clearly and positively. I agree with you that take two zero away might have psychological effect. I think it is good effect. People might spend more since the amount looks lower. This might stimulate local consumption.

It is dropping too quick. Yen at 101 range. That worries me. Does anyone know any news on Thanksgiving day that make it go from 104 to 101?
