Dingo -

"Frankly, I believe WIN is a winner just based on the Philips deals alone."

You certainly are right on that. And that view has been confirmed by many knowledgeable people.

Funny thing was, when I first read about the Philips deal, and the demo in Berlin, I missed the importance of it... So what? What about WLL, WANs, and all that IMPORTANT stuff? But research revealed that Philips was handling the licensing for names like Sony, Panasonic (Matsushita), Grundig... and a light went on in my dim interior!

I'm not as sure as others about the IPR issues - I don't think it's that important, or likely. As one knowledgeable source put it - Wi-LAN will receive more revenue from the Philips deal than they ever will from licensing.

But we'll see. For me, the main thing is that Wi-LAN will be a hugely profitable company, based on what we know, now. The rest is all gravy. 12 months should easily see a double.
