Tomato, my eMachine fan has been intermittently noisy, too. While I think DRAM will drop in price eventually, it's not worth waiting for. An upgrade to 96MB from 32 has made a huge difference for me. But I'd wait till January when things are less hectic. If the fan noise bothers you a lot, it would be cheaper to get it replaced with a QUALITY fan. I would specifically ask for the Cadillac of fans. :) PC annoyances detract from concentration on investing and can become much more expensive than a fix. Gottfried
