TransPoint and Interface Systems Form Alliance to Speed Companies to Market with E-bills
Interface's eBill Bridge Product to Help Streamline Integration With TransPoint Service
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Interface Systems (Nasdaq: INTF - news) today announced that it has formed an alliance with TransPoint, a leader in the Internet bill delivery & payment (IBDP) industry, to provide TransPoint customers with its eBill Bridge(TM) software solution. eBill Bridge will enhance TransPoint's ability to efficiently integrate legacy system information with Internet applications to provide its customers convenient and secure bill payment options. Currently some of the largest energy and telecommunications companies in the country are using this software solution. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The transaction processing and data retrieval involved in Internet bill delivery and payment requires seamless integration between legacy systems and Internet applications. Interface's new eBill Bridge product provides customizable file formats and a faster, more user-friendly program for its Legacy-to-Internet (L2i(TM)) technology. eBill Bridge 2.0 replaces eBill Manager 1.5 and has added features such as conversion of legacy based print stream files and data files to XML. Use of XML and a graphical user interface make it easy to use, author, manage and share different document types on the Internet.

``The new eBill Bridge will help TransPoint implement systems faster with less human intervention -- meaning faster integration time and lower expenses,' said Robert Nero, president and CEO of Interface. ``Our enhanced eBill Bridge continues to put us in the forefront of seamlessly taking legacy information to the Internet for our clients.'

``Our goal is to make e-billing as easy as possible for billers and get them to market quickly,' said Ralph Young, executive vice president of TransPoint. ``We are impressed with Interface's L2i technology and its ability to streamline legacy integration.'

Another eBill Bridge update includes implementation of standard file formats for registration and payment functions for use in conjunction with TransPoint's full-platform IBDP products.

``TransPoint is a major player in the e-billing category and we are pleased to be combining our technology and legacy systems expertise with their proven Internet billing solutions,' added Nero. ``We see TransPoint leading the way in the trend to greater consumer acceptance and use of online bill payment services, and we believe our combined technology expertise will help pave the way.'

Benny and all,

Our country is up and running...

WELLINGTON, Nov 22 (Reuters) - State-owned New Zealand Post
said on Monday it launched the first on-line bill and payment
system for multiple bills from any bank in New Zealand.
Arc ebill (www.arc.net.nz) charges no registration fees or
for the usage of the service.
NZ Post Internet Billing Manager Mary Beth Rousseau said
Bank of New Zealand Credit Cards, Contact Energy and Saturn
Communications were the first billers on the service and more
were expected to come on board.
"Arc ebill delivers what customers want: the convenience of
receiving and paying multiple bills consolidated on one site
rather than many bills spread over many sites," Rousseau said.
NZ Post developed the service with U.S. e-commerce firm
Checkfree Corporation <CKFR.O>, using an Oracle <ORCL.O>
database. Users require Netscape Navigator or Microsoft
Internet Explorer - version 4 or higher.
