Andy,...You don't suppose those crafty Arabs might just want to maximize their profits by holding back on oil production. I thought only Bill Gates thought like that <G>.

At the request of some others inside the CCO Management (besides Phil Ware) I am still holding off pursuing publicity for a while. I think the Company Insiders think they have a better shot at negotiating a settlement without the outside pressure of the news media. This is not to say that there are any negotiations at this time.

The one thing that troubles me is that CCO may be willing to settle for less than the real value of this oil and gas property because they are afraid that the State cannot pay the big numbers that are implied. Of course, that is precisely why I have suggested my compromise "deal" to just defer drilling while getting payments from the State that are a small fraction of the total value. At this point, I doubt if Jeb Bush and Company know about my suggested deal. At some point I would like to be certain that they do. The political calculations are probably beyond comprehension for most of us. Still, I don't see any real downside to just asking Bush if He knows about a possible compromise deal behind the scenes. I don't see how it might hurt any ongoing negotiations (if there are any.)

The prospect of letting this Legal Case run it's course to the bitter end ought to be scaring the hell out of the State of Florida. They should be coming to CCO with proposals to settle. I suppose from a cold blooded, purely financial point of view, we CCO shareholders might really be better off with a final court determined solution. That would result in a lump sum figure based on an appraisal. I still like my suggested solution with a smaller lump sum now and the continued actual ownership of the oil and gas (if any) for the future.

Ed has decided to hold back on publicity, but that does not stop you or others from going ahead, if in your judgement that is the best thing to do.
