I can easily understand why you feel uncomfortable with the contentious atmosphere. It is, as you know, not my style either. I do not endorse in any way the use of one liners to respond in an argument. Even Terry, whom I have reason to like personally, irritates deeply me when he descends to one liners rather than sitting back and thinking about an issue before posting a reasoned response. However, although the arguments have been between men and women, I do not think that it is a "guy/girl" thing. In fact, some of the clashes have not been between men and women. Personally, I should like to see more respect all around, the respect that made the camaraderie possible even while we disagreed.
