RESEARCH ALERT - Western Wireless raised

NEW YORK, Nov 22 (Reuters) - PaineWebber said Monday it raised wireless telephone
company Western Wireless Corp.'s (NasdaqNM:WWCA - news) price target to $75 from
$65.

-- said it expects AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T - news) to announce at its December 6th analyst
meeting that it will issue a tracking stock of its wireless business. This separation could
accelerate its acquisition plans.

-- said AT&T's wireless cash flow margins have come under pressure largely because of its payment of roaming charges to
rural wireless operators like Western Wireless.

-- said $100 a share is an appropriate takeover price for Western Wireless.

-- said the closing of a potential acquisition of Western Wireless could be affected by the timing of the tracking stock issuance
by AT&T and tax implications of purchasing Western Wireless since it spun out VoiceStream Wireless Corp.
(NasdaqNM:VSTR - news) earlier this year.
