Very interesting article on Ericson's problems with getting EDGE to ramp up just posted on the Qualcomm thread.

If this problem isn't solved, it could mean an enormous increase in Business for Q.

DISH has been a great investment, and I'm surprised it does not get much interest on SI. Those monthly subscriber numbers keep on rising. Maybe someone should do a G-Game analysis - I think it's a Prince (GMH is King) in an industry segment that may not have any more players, due to high entry costs.

I have an ExpressVu system (Canadian dish system, uses licensed DISH technology and set-top boxes) and am very happy with it. ExVu is now rolling out broadcast of some pay-per-view movies in SDTV format - this is just carefully-tuned regular video - near DVD quality, not exactly HDTV but it works on a regular TV and doesn't need as much satellite bandwidth.

ExVu recently added on-screen identification of the CD titles played on the 30+ music channels. Here's one from the modern jazz channel for LindyBill:

"Mr. Zoot Suit"
by "The Flying Neutrons"
CD: "Jive's Alive"
Universal UMSD 81068

There was another one called something like "The Cherry-Poppin' Zoot Suit Man".
