GraphOn Corp. and Parallel Join Forces to Improve Network Management Solutions in Europe

biz.yahoo.com

Company Press Release
CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 1999--GraphOn Corporation, (Nasdaq:GOJO - news; www.graphon.com) developers of thin, server-based software that web-enables virtually any application, announced it has signed an agreement establishing a strategic partnership with European network and systems management specialist Parallel. The agreement enables Parallel to integrate GraphOn technology into its network management services and provide its customers with GraphOn software for complete remote network management.

Adopted by Parallel as its preferred method to provide dial-in support to clients, GraphOn's Bridges(TM) thin, server-based software connects any UNIX, Linux and Windows applications to any display device over any connection, without reducing performance or functionality. GraphOn's GO-Global, soon to be integrated into Bridges as UNIXBridge, provides a fast and reliable way for Parallel to remotely manage and troubleshoot its clients' networks.

Tim Moore, director of Parallel comments, ''We chose GraphOn technology, because it is the best. When we first discovered UNIXBridge (formerly GO-Global) we loaded the software up on the network and literally couldn't believe our eyes! Previously, accessing UNIX applications over a 56k modem would take 5 to 10 minutes just to load the first screen. With GraphOn's product it was just like working on the LAN, the screen came up in a couple of seconds.''

The integration of GraphOn technology into its network and systems management solutions has provided Parallel with a cutting edge business opportunity and a way of achieving competitive advantage. It has enabled Parallel to provide a truly thin, cost-effective solution to accessing business critical applications over any connection.

James Dell, director of Parallel comments, ''Network management has traditionally been a very money hungry business. When there has been a network problem, we have typically had to travel to the site at all hours. This has resulted in additional journey time that could have been devoted to improving network performance, and hotel costs at considerable expense to the client. The remote access facility provided by GraphOn has enabled Parallel to give our customers real value, but makes us instantly available to deal with any problems, thus increasing our competitive advantage.''

Robin Ford, executive vice president, sales and marketing of GraphOn comments, ''We are delighted to have formed this strategic partnership with Parallel which will enable them to develop their value added service and, at the same time, gives our products additional exposure in Europe. GraphOn is making a clear and concentrated commitment to developing our European market and will continue to build strategic relationships and expand our services internationally.''

GraphOn Bridges provides independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprise users a cost-effective solution for deploying thin, server-based UNIX, Linux, and Windows applications to display devices such as PCs. Licenses for Windows Terminal Server, Citrix MetaFrame and Internet Connector are not needed to deliver 32-bit Windows applications to Linux, Java or Windows clients, since the software does not require the Windows NT kernel.

About GraphOn

GraphOn develops and markets thin, server-based software to speed, centralize and simplify enterprise computing and enable efficient network deployment of applications to a wide variety of devices and platforms. GraphOn products will be unified under the Bridges name and include the components UNIXBridge and LinuxBridge, formerly the GlobalHost Universal X Server of GO-Global, first thin client X server for Windows PCs, GO-Joe, the first thin client X server for Java-enabled desktops (including web browsers), and GO-Between, the first thin client X server for multi-user NT (such as Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix WinFrame). Also being added to Bridges is WinBridge, formerly codenamed jBridge, which enables deployment of 32-bit Windows applications over the Internet and is scheduled for general release late 1999. GraphOn is headquartered in Campbell, California and has offices in Seattle, Washington, Concord, New Hampshire, and Reading, UK.
