With respect to JLA, no, I don't have a sense of humor. Which is why I turned on the "ignore this person" feature. A day without JLA is like a day without bile.

Let me translate this post for those of you who missed the fun.

My point was that in addition to not being a believer in creating rights not expressly granted to the federal government in the Constitution, one of the other things that bothered me about the case was that the plaintiff or plaintiff's attorney lied to the court concerning the factual circumstances in the case. The plaintiff claimed she had been raped when in fact she had not and the plaintiff has since claimed she was used by her attorneys and did not want an abortion in the first place. This I felt was objectionable. CB's point was that the decision did not mention rape and rape was not a part of the law of the case which is true as far as it goes. I however opined the the presentation of facts is often important to the final decision and those those misrepresented facts, if nothing else, probably made it easier for the Court to reach its decision. CB believing that Supreme Court justices are descended from Olympus opines that these facts were not relative nor determinative in this case. I disagree being that I am of the opinion that the Supremes do not descend from Olympus and that while Supreme Court decisions are supposed to be limited solely to legal issues, in practical effect, that's only when the Court finds it convenient to reaching a result it wants to reach. JLA

BTW, I never referred to CB as a liar or as ignorant nor used any other pejorative term during our little debate although I must admit I was tempted. I'm not from Olympus either. <g>
