(NASDAQ: SBGI) has selected the TANDBERG Television Series E5820 multi-format ATSC encoders for four of its 58 affiliate stations around the United States. TANDBERG Television will also provide Sinclair Broadcast Group with engineering support as Sinclair launches new digital platforms at the four stations. TANDBERG Television will provide its digital broadcast solutions for Sinclair stations at WBFF-Baltimore (Fox), KDNL-St. Louis (ABC), WPGH-Pittsburgh (Fox) and KOVR-Sacramento (CBS). With the TANDBERG Television Series E5820 encoder, Sinclair Broadcast Group will be able to launch its initial services cost-effectively while easily expanding these systems in the future to support additional stations, channels and services as its digital broadcasting needs evolve.
