JB,

I'll give it one more shot.

First, whoever told you that the premarket is the most important time of the trading day is IMO either an amateur or has never traded premarket. I think it is a good place to take advantage of "dumb money" by closing long positions or by shorting into fading big gaps. That's it, as far as I'm concerned. Nevertheless, I understand what you are wanting completely. Trust me, I really do.

Quote.com (Q-Charts) offers another product (free) called Q-link. You can read about it at qcharts.quote.com

This program allows you to set up streaming data and historical data in an Excel spreadsheet format so you can manipulate it in any way you see fit. You can build your own alarms, your own criteria, your own colors... anything your heart desires and all at no charge to you. How can they possibly provide you with more than that?

If you need any help in coming up with the Excel spreadsheet formulas you need to do anything you want to do, I will be more than happy to help you. Really. And I don't even work there. I'm sure that their tech support folks will help you as well.

Finally, I have used MANY (if not all of the major) quote providers out there. I currently help in development and beta testing for another. Trust me when I say, if there is a better platform out there, I've never seen it. That includes the company I develop for. If you don't believe me, try the others. Only one other allows you to bring the data into a spreadsheet, and theirs is a proprietary spreadsheet and not Excel. Their charts are not anywhere close to those of Q-Charts. They have only one server farm, as opposed to four, and they have nowhere near the utility of bandwidth. Trust me, I know what I am talking about.

Try downloading the Q-link interface and setting up a real time spreadsheet and let me know how that goes. I believe it will open up a whole new world of possibilities in your thinking. I hope this helps you get to where you are wanting to go.

Matt

As I was posting this I reread your post and you mentioned workarounds. This is not a "workaround" and it will do all Nasdaq issues in premarket. Not just ISLD quotes. All live quotes.
