Ken,
I have the same question. For what it's worth, I think that you/I need stocks that:

1 are in demand (good volume, over 200k a day at the least)
2 are in sectors that are in favor (preferably)
3 are about to have (positive) earnings announcements
4 have a market hold (dominant) like a microsoft, HOME DEPOT, etc
5 are above their 200 day MA
6 preferably have a crossing of their 50 DMA going past their 200DMA
7 ideally have their 13 DMA passing 50 DMA (short term surge)
8 90 or above for RSI
9 are about to bounce from a low/consolidation on news or pent up
demand
10 increase in demand (volume up/ and money flow going in)
11 has had "news"

look at Nasdaq Gems site/ jenna's thread lot's of nuggets there
but I invite HERM to chime in to elaborate on his views. And hope you will share your metastock screens with me and the others.
