No, Staples still competes with those other office superstores.

Staples is off-topic, so I will try to make this the last time I mention it here, but briefly: SPLS is a 30% grower with a strong balance sheet and excellent earnings predictability, trading at a forward PE of about 30. I highly recommend the 10/22/99 analysis in Value Line to anyone interested in finding out more. Also, see November 1999 Money, page 110.

My plans for the money are exceedingly boring, I'm afraid.

1) Retire 100% of my margin debt.

2) Pay capital gains taxes.

3) Invest in SPLS (oops, I mentioned it again!).
