After a couple of emails to my ISP, Astragate, asking about my expiration date (they didn't seem to do anything in writing) I discovered today that my 6 mo. subscription had expired a couple weeks ago and that they took the liberty of renewing my acct. on a month-to-month basis without my consent. I asked them to terminate my acct. and to credit my credit card if they debited it without my consent. I told them I'd contest the credit card charge if they didn't do that. Pretty poor business practice, IMHO.

hi jon,

thanks for hanging in with me on the snaprestore subject. i appreciate you doing a memory search and sharing the results here. <g3>

i did email dell asking where the heck the program is and they just replied today, saying that they no longer include the program and that their reference guide hasn't been updated and they are sorry for the confusion.

b.s.

i won't drag anyone here through the gory details, but that is not an acceptable answer, for a number of reasons. naturally, i've outlined those reasons in an email back to dell. <g3> i hope to hear something back from them very soon addressing my newfound concern with their company's credibility.

i can report back to the thread if anyone gives a whoop, or just keep it between me and dell. (i told them i'd be posting their response, because i think they care about public relations. god knows i sing their praises here on this thread often enough!)

it sure isn't the end of the world. i'm just disappointed in this deviation from an otherwise unblemished track record.

:)
