likely view Sierra as the next Research In Motion, a company whose stock has jumped
more than 100 per cent since August and closed yesterday at $69.50.

Sierra Wireless Named The Fastest Growing Technology
Company by Deloitte & Touche in the "Canadian
Technology Fast 50" Program

VANCOUVER, BC - September 15, 1999 - Sierra Wireless (TSE: SW)
announced today it received top honours in the 1999 Canadian
Technology Fast 50 program, an annual ranking by Deloitte & Touche of
the 50 fastest growing companies in Canada. Rankings are based on
the percentage of growth in revenues from 1994 to 1998 (five-year
period).

Sierra Wireless' President and CEO, David Sutcliffe, credits Sierra's
people and strategic partnerships with the company's 7,644 percent
revenue growth over the past five years.

"In the technology sector we really are operating in the global economy,
and those companies that recognize this fact seem to do well, while
those that don't, lag behind" said David Sutcliffe, President and CEO of
Sierra Wireless. "Canadian companies compete successfully in world
markets by focusing on developing and retaining world class teams."

many of who are vying for a share of the highly competitive

To be eligible to participate in the Canadian Technology Fast 50, a
company must meet the following five requirements:

1.Have been in business a minimum of five years
2.Have 1994 revenues of at least $75,000
3.Have 1998 revenues of at least $1,000,000
4.Be legally incorporated and headquartered in Canada
5.Be considered a technology company defined as:
Producing technology
Manufacturing a technology-related product
Devotes a high percentage of effort to research and
development of technology

Consulting companies, professional services firms, etc. are not eligible
unless they own proprietary technology.
