Yes, I believe a pullback will be inevitable. . . not sure if it will segue into the December sell-off. . .I would think it would. . .as we have already seen the January effect. Certain sectors and better stocks should hold fairly well. . .broadbands, B2B and other really hot sectors should do fine. But small caps should sell-off as the end of the year approaches and so many are showing losses in portfolios. . . for tax loss sell-offs. . .As I go into cash, I am trying not to get tempted back into the market. . .but rather be patient and wait for the sell-off. Now since so many are waiting for such a big selloff, we need to be quick and snatch the bargains up when we see them throughout the month of December. . . there will be no bargains of blue chip / high fliers during the last few days of the year. . . they will always be tough to get at their lows. . . .the final day of the year will see a major sell-off. . .always amazing how many wait until the last possible second. The money pouring into the markets come January will be staggering! Corporate investment funds with renewed investment budgets. . .same with other institutional investing, hedge funds, trusts, mutual funds. . . not to mention the rise in confidence of the individual investors. . .and the biggest money coming from foreign investments into equity markets on similar release of funds come the new year. As for which day we will see the biggest drop near-term, my money goes on Monday after Thanksgiving. . . one week from today. . .markets will probably trade sideways all week long. . .except for our speculatives, which will go nuts. Hope that helps, Rande Is
