OT: Does this happens with CSCO? Ericsson in conflict with the union The Swedish Metal Workers Union threatens to sue Ericsson for damages. The union is of the opinion that Ericsson violated the law concerning right of participation in decision-making (MBL) when the new senior vice president of information was appointed. The union objects to not being asked in a number of appointments and decisions lately and the appointment of Roland Klein last week was the triggering factor. "They have ignored to inform us and suggest negotiations so many times that we can no longer accept it," said Jan Hedlund, president of the union and representative for the workers on Ericsson's board of directors. Without asking the union, Ericsson's senior vice president, human resources was moved to London and even Roland Klein and his staff will be placed in London. Jan Hedlund is very critical to this move. He feels that since the CEO and the larger part of Ericsson's personnel is placed in Sweden, the senior vice presidents of human resources and information should also stay put in Sweden.
