Hello,

Not as yet having picked up any shares of WIND, I have only been lurking off and on--for over a year. Since you mention a story on an agreement between WIND and STM, one of my long term holdings, I decided to drop in.

Checking for news here and over at Yahoo! for STM I come up with nothing. This does not, however, tell me the news item posted by someone over at the zoo is necessarily bogus. STM has and does work with other companies to develop things. About a week ago STM announced that it was buying out a U.S. based company, Arithmos, so STM is getting involved with more and more corporations on this side of the pond.

Given that an agreement with WIND would not be enough of a big deal with STM for it to issue a news release, it does not surprise me I do not find a new item at my normal sources for it. BUT... I'll see if there is any news over at ML or Schwab this evening and let people know.

BTW, if people are looking for a **quality** stock, do take a look at STM. Here's the detailed quote page for STM (and WIND) over at Yahoo:

quote.yahoo.com

The thread here at SI is basically dead unless I get inspired to post something for the only other person here that holds shares of it.

Lynn

Don,

The WIND-STM deal doesn't mean much. STM has very little market share in the MPEG decoding market. I don't see STM's position change any time soon.
