"InfoTech Reported The Substantial Penetration Of DVD In US Households - 1/7/00

InfoTech revealed the total number of DVD-Video households worldwide reached 8.5 million in 1999, an increase of 247 percent over 1998. The Norwich, Vermont-based media forecasting firm also determined worldwide DVD-Video title sales and rental revenue in 1999 totaled over $2 billion."

Thank You John for this link:

During the C-Cube conference call the following info was given:

4 million DVD unit chips shipped by CUBE in 1999
including 1.2 Million in PCs
>2.8 Million in Consumer boxes

So, how many DVD chips did Zoran ship in the 4th Qtr? and for the year in 1999?

What % market share did ZRAN have for DVD chips in the 4th quarter?

Is Zoran winning or losing market share for DVD chips?

Did Zoran experience the same down-turn in December in shipment of DVD chips as Umesh at CUBE experienced?

Umesh claimed that May-November are the strong months for DVD chip sales.
