*So I don't think you can totally disregard what H&Q says.*

Yes you can. One of H&Q's largest accounts just happens to be short QCOM in a big way. Geeze, I wonder if there is any correlation. Boy have they taken it in the kiester this year.

H&Q has a track record of taking certain factual data (usually negative) and combining it with an erroneous assumption to play down qcom's future. The problem with H&Q is their agenda. Here is an example, they play up MOT's plan to enter the asics business (remember MOT's shareholder meeting where they needed some good news to offset Irridium) H&Q was there to play up the MOT announcement and cast doubt on qcom. I think this goes to show that only your own research can be trusted, because these guys (H&Q) can cost you a lot of money.

When people spend time understanding qcom's business model, they come away indicating q's bright future (note greg powers, alex cena) The problem is most analysts haven't spent the time getting to know qcom. Today the future on cdma looks very bright, but it was only a year ago that any one of these analysts could have bought a ton of qcom stock and look like heroes. The future was just as bright one year ago for cdma.

The story on qcom and cdma is getting easier. Sometime in the future (1 or 2 years out) you will be able to calculate q's earnings based on new cdma adds per quarter. Between now and then another opportunity exists for those who gather the knowledge and understand the q business model as it relates to royalties, ascis from both voice and data.

There are pieces of information to be gathered for this puzzle (q's business model) By the time most people figure it out qcom will be significantly higher than it is today.
thanks
