The interview with CEO Jennings was very good & illuminating in terms of where MCNS is headed.

What i got from that interview is that MCNS has two distinct markets;

1) Primary value driver for MCNS is to provide INTERNET TECHNOLOY ENABLEMENT to the giant Pharmaceuticals, millions of doctors, and hundreds of thoousand small independent pharmacies.

2) Secondary value driver is to provide high-quality, accredited health information & provide support groups to the end-user consumers

The two markets are VERY related because through the consumer market, MCNS is able to provide market research to the Health Care Industry and also to provide direct bridging link between the end-users & the health care industry.

The first market will be the main engine of revenue growth. I am in the high-tech business and I know how difficult it is to deploy internet technology to leverage & drive the business operation. Large pharmaceuticals will pay big bucks to allow Mediconsult to design, build, support and leverage internet technology for all kinds of application that will have huge benefits.

We all know how much these Pharma giants have and once they truely GRASP the potential of internet to their business, there will be a mad scramble to invest --- and Mediconsult will be there because THEY are the ones enlightening the Pharmas right now through their consultative approach!

Essntially MCNS is positioning themselves as the Pharma giant's Internet enabler. The revenue potential and competitive barrier will be significant if MCNS position themselves in this role -- NO one is going to be able to dislodge them very easily!

The revenue potential from doctors and pharmacies is also very interesting (although probably more longer term in terms of development).

Many doctors and small pharmacies are total technology neophytes and will need serious "hand holding" but due to the fact that Internet provides such a compelling marketing & communication advantages, the doctors & pharmacies (who also are very well endowed with cash as we all know!) will pay to receive the Internet Enabling services from MCNS.

Once MCNS has a lock on the Pharmas, Doctors and Pharmacies, the opportunities are endless and probably my guess is that at some point in the future, MCNS will be in a great position to provide E-Commerce transaction oriented web site since they will be the ONLY company with all the key players (Pharma, Doctors, Pharmacies, Consumers).

The business opportunity is enormous and quite obvious to me --- the only remaining question is their ability to execute -- but if they pull it off, this one is going to be one amazonian stock and perhaps one of the very few Internet stocks which will make Microsoft type of profits for years to come!
