Impressive chart! quote.yahoo.com I used to work for what is now Agilent (10 yrs in the fiber end). They are in other businesses than just fiber and are VERY profitable. I know their fiber business is booming too and they might be larger than JDSU in that sector... finance.yahoo.com Some think this might be a good way to get in as the Fiber division at A is the market leader in many (most?) of the technologies... Disclaimer: Through a good LONG position in HWP, I will be quite long in A after the stock dividend scheduled for next year so I have internal bias to like the company. 8)

I bought JDS Fitel (Toronto Exchange)in the Fall of 98 at a trailing P/E of 28. JDS Fitel and Uniphase then went on to form the current company. I have booked profits along the way but still have a significant stake with a 1200% gain in my tax sheltered account. The people who populate the JDSU thread on SI are mostly enthralled. Many appear to think that, since the stock has gone parabolic, there is no way it will suffer a reversal. Every time the stock takes a jump, new people appear who ask "Is this is a good time to buy this stock? Cuz I heard the price is going up." Ciao, David Todtman
