My mother is only 45 minutes away, by highway, in southeast Washington. However, this year we are going early so that we can travel from her house to Richmond on Thursday evening (saving time), and from there to Williamsburg Friday morning. When we went in the summer, it was incredibly hot, and I bought the passes that allowed us infinite returns within the year. I have heard that it is beautiful in Williamsburg during the holidays. So, we will stay through Sunday. Are you also jetting?
