The worst you can call me is stupid: I've held onto several stocks much longer than should've (including RECQ and TIRE which I held on to right into bankruptcy, and GTIS right down into a $2 well it seems unlikely to break from). I don't even know how to short. > I just like this stock Me too. They sell real stuff not internet pipe dreams, and they're in markets (wireless, handheld) that seem timely and are acquring buzz. The worst I've ever done re: SCKT is to express two views: - #1: the stock price may not budge much until the company shows profits and gets relisted, both of which may still be months off. In this, I was -- happily -- probably wrong. SCKT is doing wildly better than I expected and when it does get relisted, it could really take off. And relisting in -- what's a good guess, maybe within a year? -- seems very possible. Sometimes re-listing alone is enough to make a stock price boom (I saw that happen with ENCC, a company no longer with us). - #2: if SCKT is dependent on the success of WinCE, it's prospects may not be as bright as we hope, because WinCE has very tough competition. But I don't know that SCKT is dependent on WinCe -- at least some of its things work with Win95/98, and possibly it could adjust its products to other platforms without much trouble. Do you suppose that the SCKT has Microsoft's support is because SCKT does not, far as I know, support Palm Pilot? Maybe brother poster Citrenbaum, who seems to know the most about SCKT around here, has some insights about this. As to the short issue, do you really think what I post makes a whit of difference to the stock price? I don't. There's a whole website that does little more than boost the stock ABHH -- it's much much busier than this place, but despite its communally reinforced confidence that ABHH is "undervalued" the stock is sunk and stays sunk. But what you or I post here about SCKT might make a difference to individuals. If you or someone else has something positve -- OR Negative -- to say about SCKT's prospects, I'd sure like to know it. To my way of thinking, that's what this list should be about. - Charles
