Has anybody ever made quiche from scratch? (probably sans the crust - I'll buy that). I have to bring a vegetarian entree to turkey day... decided to skip the tofu turkey although there were requests! But that seems like it could be more of an "acquired taste". Cheese and eggs ok for these people, although I wonder if it would make any difference if I put egg-beaters in there?

There was a battle? I missed it, I guess. Oh well, I've had enough for a while. =P

"Battle" was too strong a word, sorry. I just meant I wasn't up for an argument about it. Whatever the causes, it's an intractable problem, and I'm staying out of it. An anecdote about the Irish conflict: my husband is from Chicago, and he likes to joke that, even though the Chicago river runs green on St. Patrick's day (they dye it), it runs orange every other day of the year (pollution).

<< I had no idea that it was shaping into a battle. If it is, I have no desire to engage in it either. >>

Me either. Let's leave that to the Christians and the Protestants.
