While Jim Tobin leaving is bound to have a short term impact, my expectation is that the company will do the right things to ensure that the investment and trade community is fully briefed on the upcoming products and direction of the company. It was a gutzy move of theirs to announce to all and sundry that they would deliver the first components of their portal vision this year -- but based on what I've seen of the commitment of the company, I have little doubt that they will make their self-imposed deadlines and impress some folks. What's more, in my dealings with the company I've been impressed with their practical, sensible approaches to things. I doubt very much that the portal will be a 'throw-away' type of first release product. December 6th and forward should be interesting. Now if only the press would stop calling them a communications company... I wish Jim well in his future endeavors!
